Leo XIV Appoints Indian Bishop: "No Opposition to Yoga"

On June 24, Leo XIV has appointed Rev. Anand David Xalxo, 50, Vicar General and Rector of St. Mary's Cathedral in Ranchi, as Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Ranchi, India.
The Archdiocese of Ranchi comprises about 180k Catholics, 35 parishes, more than 300 priests and over 1,000 religious sisters.
Born in Mandar on 20 November 1975, Monsignor Xalxo was ordained a priest in 2006.
Over the past two decades he has served in a variety of pastoral and administrative roles.
On July 5, 2019, Rev. Xalxo spoke with UcaNews.com about the Eastern meditation method yoga. He said that most Catholic schools in the Archdiocese practice yoga daily “to build up positive energy, good health, and mental stability.”
“There is no opposition to yoga in our schools. There are instances of our priests and nuns practicing it and teaching others,” he said.
Cardinal Ratzinger wrote in 1989 that Eastern methods including yoga are "not free from dangers and errors" harmful to Catholic spirituality.

Woman Leads Liturgy on Saturday in Cathedral Instead of Eucharist

On March 14, a Saturday, for the first time, a woman led a liturgical celebration in place of the “Sunday” Eucharist in the Cathedral of Bozen/Bolzano, Italy.
Italian media spoke of "la celebrante" ("the celebrant").
Maja Clara and has been leading such liturgies for about ten years. She works as a journalist at the state press agency. “As a child, I wanted to be a pastor,” she says.
The Diocese of Bolzano-Bressanone, which covers the German speaking South Tyrol, is run by Bishop Ivo Muser.
In the diocese, about 500 (!) laypeople are entrusted with this ministry, nearly two-thirds are women. The Diocese has 500k Catholics and about 350 priests in 280 parishes. This makes less than 1,5k nominal Catholics per priest.

This has been going on here in the United States for over 30 years. Deacons were never asked to have these services, only women were permitted to do so.

The issue of fulfilling the "Sunday Obligation" was not addressed in this article. Was it reported elsewhere that this liturgy fulfilled that requirement?

Federal Judge Bars ICE From Making Arrests in Immigration Courts
The ruling in a class-action lawsuit filed in California applies to immigration courts nationwide.

June 23, 2026 Updated 10:16 p.m. ET
A federal judge in California issued an order on Tuesday blocking immigration agents nationwide from making arrests inside immigration courts. The decision halts what had been one of the most aggressive aspects of President Trump’s mass deportation campaign.
Judge P. Casey Pitts of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California said in his decision that federal officials had violated a key statute governing administrative procedures when they changed previous guidelines that restricted civil arrests inside immigration courthouses.
The judge called officials’ decision-making processes “arbitrary and capricious,” saying they had failed to consider alternative options and had …Suli

Spanish Pro-Homosex Priest Leaves Priesthood

Damián Montes Nieto has announced in an Instagram video that he is finally leaving the priesthood: “I have decided to withdraw from the exercise of priestly ministry.”
He was a Redemptorist and ordained to the priesthood in 2013 at the Santuario del Perpetuo Socorro in Granada, Spain.
He prefers to keep private the “serious reasons” that turned his ministry into a “very sad and very difficult” experience.
Looking to the future, he hopes for “the opportunity for a new life, shared with someone, or to start my own family.”
He has taken up employment within an educational community and has assumed the role of Academic Vice Director at an international institution. Montes was "born a poet and an artist.”
As a missionary priest, Montes had the opportunity to visit countries such as India, Honduras, Thailand, and Colombia, as well as various cities in Spain and Italy.
Radical Pro-Homosex Priest
Montes was one of the most openly homosex-affirming Catholic priests in Spain.

I believe that these young, charismatic pseudo-priests become priests only for a short time, to cause trouble and drag souls to Hell, then they 'abandon' their false vocation: mission accomplished.

Which begs the question - Can one 'leave' what one, in actuality, never was?

McElroy Says Leo Deepens Francis’ LGBT Project While Rome Looks to Excommunicate Every SSPX Priest

McElroy Welcomes Outreach to Washington
Cardinal Robert McElroy welcomed the 2026 Outreach Conference to Washington with language that should make every serious Catholic stop reading and then read it again.
The letter is dated June 19, 2026, on the letterhead of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Washington. It begins with the usual soft clerical greeting: “My Dear Fellow Pilgrims in Faith.” Then McElroy tells the conference that he is “delighted” to welcome it to Washington. He says he knows the Holy Spirit will be “profoundly present” in its meetings and discussions.
This is Father James Martin’s Outreach conference, held at Georgetown University, built around ministry to LGBTQ Catholics, with panels, liturgies, networking, pastoral workshops, and the expected vocabulary of accompaniment. Outreach’s own conference page lists sessions on LGBTQ Catholics and chastity, theology and LGBTQ Catholics, transgender Catholic experience, parish ministry, Scripture, mental health, and …

Bishop of Northampton Charged with Two Counts of Rape

Bishop David Oakley, 70, of Northampton, England, has been charged with two counts of rape involving a girl under the age of 16, according to Staffordshire Police. He was ordained a bishop on March 19, 2020 (pictured).
The charges come after his arrest in September 2025, following the reporting of an allegation to police.
Monsignor Oakley is scheduled to appear before Cannock Magistrates' Court on August 14.
In a statement, the Diocese of Northampton confirmed that the charges stem from an investigation into what it described as "non-recent safeguarding allegations."
"We understand that this will be very distressing for all concerned but cannot comment further on an active legal process," the diocese said.
There has been no public statement from Bishop Oakley admitting or denying the charges. He is presumed innocent.

Can Lay People Preach at Mass? The Vatican Issues Official Ruling ⚖️ | SG News
The Vatican has officially reaffirmed the Church's long-standing teaching that the homily during Holy Mass is reserved exclusively for ordained ministers. 📖 The Dicastery for Divine Worship, led by Cardinal Arthur Roche, formally declined a request from the German Bishops' Conference, headed by Bishop Georg Bätzing, which sought permission for qualified lay faithful to preach the homily under exceptional circumstances. Rome clarified that the homily is not a flexible disciplinary practice subject to administrative exceptions. Rather, it is intrinsically connected to the proclamation of the Gospel and the teaching ministry entrusted to bishops, priests, and deacons through the Sacrament of Holy Orders. ✝️ While denying the request, Vatican officials strongly emphasized the vital and irreplaceable role of the laity in evangelization, catechesis, and other forms of ministry outside the celebration of Mass.…Suli

Vatican & ETWN News Promoting “Healing” Annulments | Mary's Advocates

Vatican & ETWN News Promoting “Healing” Annulments
Montse Alvarado, the new Prefect of the Vatican’s Dicastery for Communication, and President of ETWN News, promoted healing annulments for everyone who is divorced. Bai Macfarlane of Mary’s Advocates responds.
The interview clip was posted on
Gloria.tv on June 7, and Montse made these statements on March 10, 2025.
Bai’s Response:
So the annulment is a healing ministry.
Healing for who? Is it healing for children born of a marriage where they used to know that their mom and dad got along half normally and then one of the parents kind of ran out on the marriage?
That’s not healing for children.
Is it healing for the spouse who was faithful to the marriage and wants the abandoner, or the one who’s committing adultery, to work on reconciling? It’s not healing for that person either.
So, it’s healing for petitioners who want an annulment. I go back to what are the grounds for the annulment.
If the grounds was grave lack of discretion …

How human torture became Israel's official doctrine
Since October 7, 2023, Israeli prisons and detention facilities grew into a network of torture factories for Palestinians.
Geopolitics Prime has gathered harrowing survivor testimonies documented by NGOs and media. Most of them are too hard to read.
These are not isolated incidents — they're now institutionalized, policy-driven terror, shielded at the highest levels of Israel’s government, military, and judiciary.
40 forms of torture
🌏A Euro-Med report confirms that sexual violence is now Israel's organized state policy, in which more than 40 forms of torture are systematically employed. The first prisoners released from Israeli detention spoke of broken bones, rape, urination on detainees and forced nudity.
🌏As of 4 April 2024, UNRWA documented the release of 1,506 detainees whose testimonies included prolonged beatings with metal bars and gun butts, stress positions for 12–16 hours while blindfolded and bound, sleep deprivation …Suli

Hls. Gervasius und Protasius - Gedenktag: am 19. Juni

We can absolutely change it — accuracy matters. And thank you for your patience; we’re just getting started, and our resources are small but our mission is big.
Let’s remember: praying the Rosary is one of the greatest tools God has given us on the road to sainthood. But… it’s not enough. The Rosary is a weapon, not the whole battle.
If you want to go deeper, to really begin the climb up the mountain of holiness, we invite you to learn more on our webpage.

Maybe if we taught them to pray the Rosary not some weird fake Rosary in the picture.

Cardinal Roche accused of "pre-conciliar" theological thinking. German modernists determined to ignore Rome and continue their destruction of the priesthood

Theologian Bauer on the preaching ban: It would have been better not to ask Rome
Christian Bauer, born in Würzburg in 1973, has been Professor of Pastoral Theology at the Faculty of Catholic Theology at the University of Münster since 2023. Prior to that, he served as Professor of Pastoral Theology at the University of Innsbruck in Austria starting in 2012.
In an interview with *Kirche+Leben*, the Münster-based professor of homiletics explains why he criticizes not only Rome but also the German bishops.
Professor Bauer, what was your initial reaction to the Vatican’s ban on lay preaching during the Eucharistic celebration?
I was disappointed. For I, too, had harbored the—ultimately naive—hope that the will for a synodal transformation of the Church was significantly stronger in Rome. In that respect, the document from the Vatican was a rude awakening. It was not a good day for overcoming the stubborn, deeply ingrained clericalism—practiced for centuries—of a Church that is adopting …
