Die Messe aller Zeiten. Roma locuta, causa finita! Wenn von der traditionellen oder überlieferten Messe die Rede ist, meint man die Hl. Tridentinische Opfermesse n. Pius V., so die vollständig richtige Bezeichnung. Diese Messe trägt den Namen St. Pius V., weil dieser Papst die Messe für alle Zeiten auf dem Erdkreis kanonisierte. Das Römische Missale nach Pius V. ist natürlich keine neue Messe mit neuen Riten, sondern eine Wiederherstellung nach „Vorschrift und Ritus der heiligen Väter“. Prof. Michael Fiedrowicz weist in seinem Buch Die überlieferte Messe nach, dass der Canon bereits auf St. Gregor d. Gr. (590-604) zurückgeht. Er zeigt auch auf, dass das Missale n. Pius V. kaum Veränderungen zum überhaupt erstgedruckten Missale im Jahre 1474 aufweist, das seinerseits wieder getreu das Messbuch der Zeit Papst Innozenz III. (1198-1216) wiedergibt.
