Belgian public broadcaster VRT aired a segment two months ago in which its presenters smashed statues of Jesus and Mary live. The scene was part of a so-called “rage room” meant to vent frustrations. Other smashed items included crockery and a computer screen. The three hosts were Eva De Roo, Dries Lenaerts and Sam De Bruyn. The text firmly reiterates the Church’s teaching that marriage is monogamous by nature - one man and one woman.
